    Danish Designer, Hans J Wegner created the CH37 In 1962, a clean simple, aesthetically light in appearance, uncomplicated design that gives excellent comfort. The chair is widely used for dining, conference halls, meeting and break out areas. Shaker-inspired, clean lines, natural paper reed cord, tightly woven seat, sturdy Ash frame, matt oiled to retain the smooth beauty of the natural wood.

    ORGANIC NATURAL BEAUTY

    Manufactured with the finest materials, the Ash is selected to minimise blemishes and knots, finished in a natural matt oil, allowing the natural ash wood authenticity, beauty, and feel. The seat is reed paper cord, tightly woven to give a supportive seating position. The backrest, ash veneer, and concave to envelop the seated. Arms slightly rounded and flat with prominent 'cap' provide a unique touch and sturdiness. Typically HJW in style.

    Hans J Wegner's (HJW) designs were a massive contribution to mid-century Danish design, using an era of materials from Hardwoods, Bent Veneered Ply, and Upholstery HJW produced organic functionality, whilst still pushing design boundaries with shapes that still created functional seating requirements. Iconic designs such as the Y Chair, CH07 Chair, Ox Chair, and Hoop are to name but a few, these however were only some of the pieces that made it into mass production. Not taken into consideration the 400+ other pieces that were designed for independent projects or not put into mass production. Please note, that all content and products we offer are in the style of the designs from the 1920s to 1970s and are not to be considered licensed products.
