Born as Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-Gris on 1887 in Sweden, He assumed the Le Corbusier pseudonym when he moved to Paris in 1917. He was a Swiss-French architect, designer, painter, urban planner, writer, and one of the pioneers of what is now called modern architecture. He’s got a long list of achievements under his name including what many architectural historians called as "the machine age." But he will forever be known as the icon of modernism because of his contributions to modern architecture that is also evident in his furniture creations. He was quoted as saying:” Chairs are architecture, sofas are bourgeois.”CONTEMPORARY INSPIRATION
20TH CENTURY RENOWNED CHAIR
The Designer Editions style of the iconic LC2 Style Armchair is one of the first modern furniture line to take a radical step in making the furniture frame dramatic and visible aspect of the design in 1929 for the Salon d Automne art exhibition in Paris. This inside out sofa is composed of a simple tubular stainless steel frame and leather-covered cushions, a modernist response to the traditional chair that still manage to stay strong even after more than nine decades. The LC2 Armchair is a spacious chair which creates an impressive style statement in any environment.

Form and Function is what Designer Editions have in mind when we decided to produce a high quality style of the LC2 Style Armchair inspired by Le Corbusier. This Designer Editions LC2 Style Armchair is handmade from the finest materials of Highly Polished Stainless Steel in the original cube shape fitted with polyurethane cushions upholstered in full-grain standard leather in black.
