Le Corbusier
Born as Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-Gris on 1887 in Sweden, He assumed the Le Corbusier pseudonym when he moved to Paris in 1917. He was a Swiss-French architect, designer, painter, urban planner, writer, and one of the pioneers of what is now called modern architecture. He’s got a long list of achievements under his name including what many architectural historians called as "the machine age." But he will forever be known as the icon of modernism because of his contributions to modern architecture that is also evident in his furniture creations. He was quoted as saying:” Chairs are architecture, sofas are bourgeois.”CONTEMPORARY INSPIRATION
MID CENTURY MODERN ARMCHAIR
Our Charles Le Corbusier style LC3 chair is iconic, cubic perfection. The foam cushions are Dacron-wrapped, just like the original. This makes them fuller and prevents sagging. The cushions are then covered in top-grain aniline leather, which comes in a selection of colours for every taste. This modern club chair is composed of a chrome frame and four black leather cushions. The result is a spectacular chair.
TRUE TO ORIGINAL
The entire armchair is built around the cushions with a metal exoskeleton and base network "spring webbing". A striking feature of the chair is the external chrome-plated steel frame, which wraps round the outside and extends to the legs. Remarkably comfortable, which was appropriately dubbed “cushion baskets.”
