Son of an Aeronautical Engineer, Philippe Starck is a French designer who also worked as an architect and is known for his wide range of designs including everything from interior design to household objects to boats to watches. He is one of the most famous designers and interior architects of our time. Celebrated for his free spirit and unconventional style. His design for the private apartments in the Élysée Palace (1983–84) in Paris for French President François Mitterrand first gained international attention and ever since he became a household name in many establishments and residential settings. Designed to reduce the chance of waiters tripping in cafes, Phillippe Starck designed the Pratfall Chair in 1985 for the Costes Cafe in Paris. reflecting his principle and belief that honesty and integrity should be at the forefront of design. This gives the chair a touch of luxury and represents longevity and durability, while characterizing an ability to bring cutting-edge design to everyday products. This is the chair that gave Paris’ “Cafe Costes” its distinctive and era-defining look.

The Pratfall Chair by Designer Editions is a true conversation starter measuring at 75cm, this chair is highly styleted like the original which is made of moulded solid plywood frame in black and dark tan finish. on black-lacquered tubular steel frame and padded with Polyurethane Foam upholstered in black Full Aniline Leather for a Comfortable Dining Experience. Its fine shape provides ample posterior support during dining, reading, writing or lounging. You don't have to compromise looks for comfortability as this chair is backed with a 24-month manufacturer’s warranty.
