Husband and wife design partnership. Shin Azumi and Tomoko Asumi are London based designers. Their area of expertise focuses on the design of furniture, lighting, household electronics and even spatial design for office interiors, restaurants, exhibitions, shops and specialized stores. Shin Azumi was born in Kobe, Japan in 1965, while his wife, Tomoko Azumi was born in Hiroshima, Japan in 1966. They met at Kyoto City University of Arts in Japan. Both finished their masters degree at the Royal College of Art. They founded the Azumi Studio and partnered on various works from 1995 to 2004. Their 9 years of collaboration gave birth to design inspirations, among them is the LEM Stool, which was awarded Product of the Year at the International Interior Design Awards.
